Our Practice
Established in 1986, MACBETH ARCHITECTS + DESIGNERS has expanded since its beginnings into a dynamic office covering all aspects of architectural and interior design services.
We have well established links with overseas architectural practices in both the UK and South Africa, calling upon the expertise of various specialists when required. MACBETH ARCHITECTS + DESIGNERS holds a varied schedule of achievements in Mauritius, Seychelles and Maldives from major new build projects to fully serviced refurbishment projects in the hospitality field.
We have also acquired a substantial expertise in large scale integrated residential projects for which MACBETH ARCHITECTS + DESIGNERS has been the leading architectural practice throughout the several phases of the real estate development.
The practice has also diversified its services in the recent years in interior design consultancy inclusive of product selection and furniture design, and has successfully conducted several projects including hotel, private residences, offices and showrooms.

Partners
Alistair Macbeth
Alistair Macbeth established the practice, Macbeth Architects + Designers (MAD), in 1986, and has developed it from its small beginnings to a major architectural force in Mauritius and in the Indian Ocean. Over time MAD has developed its skill base to cater for the growing demand of the hospitality industry and integrated resort developments.
Ross Macbeth joined his father and they worked together to meet the challenges of exciting projects in Mauritius, Seychelles and Maldives. The practice has worked with other construction industry consultants from across the world, offering a complete design and implementation package for some highly acclaimed developments.
Alistair Macbeth, as both an architect and a designer, has encouraged the practice to branch out into Interior Design services, which compliments the architectural work particularly in hospitality projects. The future development of the practice is firmly in the hands of the next generation, and new demands will be addressed with new ideas.
Ross Macbeth
Ross Macbeth joined Macbeth Architects + Designers in June 2001 following both a degree with honours and diploma in Architecture from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, Scotland. He has worked in both London and South Africa for reputable firms of Architects before joining the family run company. Ross registered with the Mauritius Association of Architects and the Professional Architects council in 2003.
Ross has successfully completed major hotel developments in both Mauritius and Seychelles. For the Raffles Hotel in Seychelles, Ross won the 22nd Architect of the Year Award in the category of Focus Countries’ Young Architect in 2013.
Ross’ mission, as project architect and as a director of the company, is focused on bringing innovation to the practice’s structure and expertise, as well as continuing his role as partner in charge of the company’s key ongoing projects. He plans to build on the current foundation and grow the company to providing both Architectural and Interior Design services throughout the Indian Ocean region.
